Hello all! This is my second post here and hoping to obtain some
advice from experienced puppy owners..
My husband and I adopted 2 lab/GSD mix puppies from the same litter 2
weeks ago. (Orion and Bogart are their names!!) They had kennel cough
and diarrhea, which are being treated with medication from the vet.
They started on diarrhea medication on Saturday, and their stools are
in good shape now. They both had pretty much the same schedule...until
yesterday. Orion didn't go poo after he ate for a long time. They both
usually went right after or at least within an hour after eating.
Finally he went around 10:30 pm, which was 4 hours after he ate. This
morning he refused to eat his breakfast. Bogart on the other hand is
on his normal schedule. He eats when I feed him, goes to the bathroom
right after eating, etc. I am kind of worried about Orion. When I left
to work this morning, he was on the bed laying down. When I walked out
the door he and Bogart tried to chase after me. I called my husband
from work around 9:00 am and asked him if Orion ate. He said he
didn't. He took Orion outside and he ran around and played, but didn't
go poo. Can anyone guess what is going on with Orion? I guess he is
acting normal except for the irregularity. Could it be the medication
he is taking that is causing this?? He is a puppy with good appetite
usually. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone can give me some
advise on this... (whether I should take him to the vet or just keep
an eye on him for a couple of days and see what happens...)
