These are uncertain times. Thank goodness you're such a rock. Now don't
be mad if everyone else isn't. You can only expect so much from mere
mortals.

I love the "sweet & spicy" version someone makes! You can eat it
right out of the pouch with a spoon. All protein, virtually no fat,
no carbs. Salt? Well.........................

It's funny you should mention that... I LOVE tuna. But I've watched as
chunk light canned tuna has degraded over the years to something on
the order of "shredded light by-products". I finally started eating
solid white, even then, the quality of white tuna from the "big names"
has also been nosediving recently. Chicken of the Sea has gotten
awful, Star Kist flat sucks anymore and Bumble Bee is absolutely
detestable. I have to add a touch of mayo and onions to it to cover up
the "fish oil" taste.
I was making a run through our local Spartan store the other day. They
had Spartan brand solid white Albacore in water for 99 cents. I
figured, at that price, it can't be any worse than any other tuna, so
I grabbed a few cans.
When I opened the first can, I saw a lot of water coming out over the
lid. I figured, "mush city" but I was actually suprised when I opened
the lid to see a nice solid hunk of white tuna! I grabbed a fork and
broke off a piece and tried it, and it tasted way better than anything
the big brands have put out in a while. I actually ate the whole thing
straight from the can. I've used three cans since then, and all three
were the same.
So, as far as I'm concerned, the "name brands" can stick it. That's
just the "corporate way" of cutting costs every way imaginable while
the price *still* goes up. Pay more, get less. Well, suck on THIS...
when your quality drops significantly, yet you expect me to pay the
same or even more, someone ELSE is going to wind up getting my money!
