Michel Boucher
My wife, her children and myself are flying at 16h30 from Macdonald-
Cartier airport for a week in beyoodiful barmy Victoria for a family
reunion (on her side). I have resisted travelling west for the last
twelve years (saying I would go no further west than Smith's Falls,
about 100 km from here) and for some reason, no matter how many times I
said I was not interested in going, she kept bringing up the number of
times we've been to see my relatives (2 hours away by car in Montréal).
I think it was when she booked me a ticket without asking me if I
wanted to go that I realized that she wasn't going to let me slough
this one off.

So we enlisted the neighbours in taking care of the cats and the guinea
pig and we're off with granddaughter (3 years old) in tow. I figured
if I go this once, she may let me have another twelve years of peace,
but now, my daughter has announced in the last few days that she is
moving to Vancouver. I'm doomed to travel from time to time to the
non-French portions of this continent and it appears that there's
little I can do about it. *sigh*

Please note that this post contains no overt anti-USAian statements of
any sort, nor is it designed to excite the political passions of the
morally bankrupt right-wing supporters of the emerging fascist
states...unfortunately :-)

Well, perhaps you can console yourself by dining at the Aerie. I've always
wanted to go there. I don't think they speak French, though :-).

She's already 3?!?!??! I can't believe it! It seems like she was born
yesterday! That's what happens on Usenet, I guess--one loses all track of
time!

Michel - This puts me in mind of my daughter's prospective MIL who
proudly proclaims that she doe *not* travel, cannot imagine anything
outside of Boston being of interest enough to travel *to* and is only
flying to the Left Coast next month b/c her son is getting married.
See below post/rant/vent entitled, "The Boston Massacre."

Cheers on your travels, Michel.
