How do you get the icepops out of the icepop mold? - CLICK HERE for the Cooking Forum Index
Lululemon
I should have asked this at the beginning of the summer. I have store
bought icepop molds but I always have trouble getting them out of the
molds to eat them.

How do you get the icepops out of the icepop mold? Can I add something
to the recipes or to the moulds?

Cheers,

Simple! Coat them with Crisco!

Actually, I haven't made them for 40 years or so, but when I did, I
dipped the mold in warm water for a moment, then just papped them back
in the freezer for a few minutes on waxed paper.

Run a little tap water over the outside of the mold.

Actually you were correct the first time, plastic freezer trays need to be
seasoned; lightly coat with vegetable oil and let stand over night. Next day
send through your dishwasher, or wash by hand if that's your thing, and they'll
be permanently non-stick.

Not sure what style you're using, but we have these (sans Mickey ears):

OR

I just warm them in my hand for a moment, then gently squeeze the mold
and they pop right out. But I have pretty warm hands too...

Are you really talking ice pops?

What's that old adage... warm hands, cold nipples... oh, maybe it's cold heart,
well they're close. It's nice how they pop right out... hehe
