During my student life and to this very day I have been eating
toasties. They are so easy to make, it's a laziness thing I think!!
But I've used this to my advantage and written a booked <B>"Tried &
Toasted"</B> with history, etiquette, tip and recipes.
(http://www.triedandtoasted.com) One of the tips is EGG:
--------------FROM THE BOOK-------------------
Egg
There is no need to pre-cook the egg; it will cook in the toastie
machine. The key to a successful egg toastie is the bottom piece of
bread and the size of the egg. Make sure a medium sized egg is used,
if the egg is too large, the task of containing it is made much
harder.
The bottom piece of bread.
It's all in the preparation. The idea is to try and create a bowl for
the egg to sit in:
Flatten the bread with your thumb.
Place in the toastie machine and softly push the bread into the
toastie pouches.
Carefully break the egg on to the bread.
Season to taste.
Place the second piece of bread on top.
Close the lid of the toastie machine.
Remove toastie and eat!
Be warned, this toastie can go extremely wrong and result in an
almighty mess. If the egg starts to slip, just encourage it back into
place, slap the top piece of bread on and close the toastie machine as
quickly as you can.
