I'm making a batch of cupcakes, but there is no way we are going to eat
2 dozen cupcakes before they go stale.... even sharing them. Can they be
frozen if they are left unfrosted?

They can be frozen if they are frosted.

Better if frosted with chocolate before freezing.

What is the problem with you? Only 2 dozen? We? Egad Dawn! Put some
chocolate frosting on them and I can eat that much way before they even
think of becoming stale! ;-)

Be very careful about freezing cupcakes with 1/2 white and 1/2 chocolate
frosting. In the freezer a reaction often takes place between the two
frostings rendering the whole cupcake unfit for eating.
