Skinny

I'm making a hopefully exhaustive list of spices suitable for use in
spiced tea, wassail, mulling, eggnog, fruitcake, etc. Things like nutmeg,
mace, allspice, cinnamon, clove, orange peel, ginger, almond, vanilla,
fennel, cardamom, anise, bay leaf, mint....

I'd appreciate any additions.

TIA,
Skinny

Star anise, saffron, rose water, orange flower water, citrus oils, galangal (a
kind of ginger), grains of paradise (a spice I hope makes a come back-- it's
really very tasty like black pepper with a spicy almost minty/cardomommy
*laughs* backround).

There is another flavor used in Pannetone that is a vanilla/citrus water
kinda thing- give me a sec I'll look it up *tick tock*...
found it--- Fiori di Sicilia

*cheers*

[snip]

Any good sources for grains of paradise? My supply is ancient. I
see that Penzeys, which is opening a store in the next town,
doesn't carry it, alas.
