turkey fryers: alum vs. ss - CLICK HERE for the Cooking Forum Index
oaktree1@webtv.net
My wife said I could get a turkey fryer for Christmas. I was wondering
what the pros and cons are of aluminum vs. stainless steel fryers are. A
co-worker said the stainless was was harder to control the temperature
of the oil, but I don't know. And of course aluminum is less expensive.
Any advice??? Thanks, ~~~oaktree~~~

Cost. SS may clean up a little easier.

He surely does not know either. We're talking hitting 130,000 Btu of heat
to a thin material on a pot, not 1/4" thick castings.

Buy what is on sale. Makes no difference in the final product.

Depends on what you're using it for. Only stainless will do if you're making
a still.
