Plum Sauce

Take 1 Cup sugar & 2 Tbsp. Corn starch and thoroughly mix.

In a sauce pan - Pour boiling water over mixture, heat to a boil for a few
minutes.

Add lump (2 Tablespoons) of butter, pinch of salt, nutmeg and vanilla to
taste.

Add either 1 tablespoon of vinegar or brandy.

Found this recipe in some old family papers. I am reasonably sure it is a
sauce for pancakes.

My question is, how much water?

Thanks

IT

I would start with about 3/4 cup and expect it to be too thick. Thin
with additional water or milk.

Best regards,
