Helped place an order at Zingerman's! - CLICK HERE for the Cooking Forum Index
Rick & Cyndi
Woo-hoo!!

DH and I love Zingerman's in Ann Arbor, MI. He has been requesting
Zingerman's gift certs this year so that he can order a 4# chunk of their
Parmesana-Reggiano (SP?)... he'd be in pure heaven if he could afford their
85 # wheel of it!! LOL Anyway, one of my sisters didn't want to give him a
cert - but wanted him to have something from Zingerman's while he collected
his certs to get whatever he wants... anyway, I helped her place an order
for him that consisted of:

1 kg of Grey Sea Salt
1 # Vermont Cheddar Cheese
and 1 of their Ceramic Coffee Mugs

He is going to be so excited! A few of his most favorite things consist of
Cheese, Coffee, and Salt!

DS had thought about getting him a chunk of the parmesan that he wanted but
figured this way he could also have some variety and a couple of things to
unbox instead of just one. Not to mention - this way he gets to enjoy some
of their yummies while he waits for his order to arrive!

It'll arrive next week... she'll still have a little something for him under
the tree in the meantime... and this will certainly earn some pretty high
points with him.

I miss Zingerman's. I haven't ordered from them, but used to get their
School Kids' Song and Dance sandwich when I lived there - nearly weekly.
Sigh.

================
Nancy,

I haven't had their sandwiches - yet. Next visit up there I'll have to give
it a shot.

Triple woo-hoo! Rick's goodies arrived, as promised, on the 30th (or was it
the 31st?). The cup is cool and I haven't tried the cheese yet... but the
grey salt... WOW. I am so impressed. To me, sea salt should have a bit of
that ocean salt taste and this one actually DOES! All one needs to do is
close their eyes, taste a granule or two and maybe even be in front of a fan
or be outside on a breezy day and you'll think you're tasting sea air!
Really good stuff. In fact, on tonight's breadsticks I'll be sprinkling on
a bit of the Grey Sea Salt.

Hubby's 4 # chunk of cheese arrived the day before Sis' order... absolutely
divine as well! I'd love to have some Zingerman stock... they do some
awesome stuff and have a large following!
