Potted Meat, not SPAM - CLICK HERE for the Cooking Forum Index

After the SPAM threads and a stop at the supermarket today, curiosity brought
me to these pages. I have never eaten canned potted meat, but have enjoyed
homemade potted meat immensely. I used to buy Underwood Devilled Ham, but
haven't bought it for a long time. I forget which product it is, but one of
these contains 1200% of th RDA of cholesterol!

1200% cholesterol would have be brains. (brains are *made* out of
cholesterol.) Is one of the products canned pork brains?

I don't bother looking at cholesterol amounts in foods I eat, since I've
learned that only something like 20% of serum cholesterol can be
attributed to dietary cholesterol in most folks. Watching my carbs and
reducing my insulin resistance is what's working on my lipids.
