From my little motorcycle news thing ... they travel all over
and take pictures of funny signs. Cracks me up.

MY BOSS TOLD ME to CHANGE this stupid sign.
SO I DID

This one's funnier, don't know if it was meant to be, it's
an actual state sign, not a roadside sign.

DONT'T DRINK AND DRIVE

Too funny. nancy

My favourite sign is in a street inna Melbourne suburb named Through Rd.
Under the street sign is another advising that it's "No Through Rd".

My favourite bumper sticker says, "Yes, but not with you."

There was a sign years ago on a semi-major road that said "Stop A Head." I
always wondered if they had gotten a discount on that sign.

I saw a billboard in Indiana years ago advertising two businesses at
the same address, one ad on the left and one on the right. The left
side was for dog training, and the right side was for taxidermy! Talk
about motivation . . .

In the Hunter Valley north of Sydney, possibly in the town of Maitland
but my memory is shaky, there is a large sign advertising a law firm:
Vile and Vile, attorneys at law.

I've always been tempted to make up black letter "I"s on orange
backgrounds, and place them over the "U" in the Construction Zone
signs. "Constriction Zone" is so much more descriptive!

Somebody PLEASE tell me this is true and not an urban myth, but I have
heard there is a sign in a lake (in Scotland, I think) that reads:

THROWING STONES AT THIS SIGN IS FORBIDDEN

There's a town north of San Antonio (I always forget the name) with a sign
that reads:

"Slow down, see our dam. Speed up, see our damn jail."

Rio Rancho, New Mexico used to have signs on entering the town that said:

"Beer - $2.00
Wine - $3.00
Well Drink - $4.50
DUI - $1,450.00"

I know I don't have the dollar amounts correct, but that was the essence of
the signs.

We have the following law firm in Murrysville, PA, a
suburb of Pittsburgh - Bickers & Bickers Attorneys at Law.
We think they're divorce lawyers. ;-)

Of course. Right at Cranston Street/Huntington they have the ramp
down. It's ugly. And that's where my husband was hit by a car last
summer. I avoid that area, take the Plainfield Ave exit to get to my
kid's school.

Try a trip down 95 to NYC. You want to see constriction? CT puts our

That's hilarious. On a baseball newsgroup I used to frequent, students of
a certain university in a state that starts with Mary and ends with Land
would rag on my team's newsgroup mercilessly. NOTORIOUS for their
bad spelling. I don't know what's going on there, but geez ... it was good
for a laugh many times.

So, I was in a wedding down there, wound up a little lost and drove by
that school. Sign out front, I *wish* I could remember what it said, but
it was way misspelled. Lost or not, I laughed my patootie off.

nancy (quite sure I have spelling errors in my post, that's the rule)
