Anyone had any experience with the Deni Versi-cooker? It's not real
expensive ($90) and it claims it deep-fries, slow-cooks, boils, fries,
sautes, and steams. I do like a multitasking machine, but is it any
good? Does it do some things well and other things poorly? My crockpot
is on its last legs (only seems to have one temperature: too hot and
waaay too hot) and, well <blush> the Deni is kinda cool looking and
would look good with my stainless food processor, toaster and drip
coffee maker. OTOH, I don't want a good looking appliance that doesn't
pull its weight, so to speak.
And what is it with appliances? Do they telegraph distress signals or
something and other appliances croak in sympathy? I just replaced my
food processor not long ago, the crockpot is going, looks like we need
to replace the thermostat in the refrigerator and now my hand mixer is
making sounds that hand mixers are not supposed to make. <sigh>

old as the bird, and if the bird's breasts had been as full as the
waitress's, it would have been a very good dinner."
