Sheldon, you are a brave man. I would not give out my real email address
on any NG! I dislike spam intensely. You are also fortunate to have a
fairly uncommon name, so we all know who you are. There must be a
million Cathys out there. Shortly after I started posting here, I
noticed another "Cathy" was posting too, so I changed my *pseudonym*
once, from cathy to cathyxyz, to avoid confusion.... If that makes me a
"sneak", I am guilty as charged. And if we are going to be honest, then
lets go for it. I like reading your posts, cos you are more than honest,
and sometimes downright rude... but you also give some good advice, and
sometimes you shock even me with your remarks! ;) I like that. BTW, if
anyone is interested, it was *this* Cathy who got lambasted for being a
smoker..
But you have to admit, some of the pseudonyms are really clever/funny. I
like that too.
Cheers
Cathy (also my real name)

So continue to be honest: you were not lambasted for being a smoker.
Implying that anyone "lambasted" you "for being a smoke" just because
the conversations about it that you started didn't go the way you
wanted is grossly unfair. There's a saying that you would do well to
remember: "Don't spit into the wind."

Listen Sue, I stopped posting about the smoking thing because I took
your advice. You said the best way to stop a thread like that is to stop
posting, so I did. I didn't stop because it "didn't go the way I wanted
it to." We weren't getting anywhere with the argument (other than more
and more annoyed with eachother about it) and I still think that smokers
and non-smokers will never agree on the subject, so please lets not
start it up again. The reason I mentioned it here, was because I can't
remember exactly when I changed my "pseudonym" from cathy to cathyxyz,
and I didn't want any confusion about which cathy said what. Honest
enough for you?
Ok. what's for lunch?

If we are doing the honesty thing...I changed my name because I needed
to change my lifestyle...I was Diagnosed type 2 and need to reinforce
my will power about foods to eat and weightloss. New Habits equals a
new name kinda dealie. Seems to be working just fine.
I was going to break in my new portable grill by making candied salmon
on a stick (Maple Salmon Suckers) ...till I checked out the carbs in
maple syrup. As seen on food tv... www.foodtv.ca. the surreal gourmet.
http://www.foodtv.ca/recipes/recipe...cipe%5F6377.asp
Roughly speaking
Marinate wedges of skinned salmon in 1 cup maple syrup and 1/4 cup soy
sauce overnight.
Put the salmon on a water soaked wooden/Bamboo skewer.
lightly coat one edge in black pepper. (dip in a small bowl/plate of
pre ground black pepper). I was going to mix in some ground dried
chipotle. Hot and sweet go well together.
Grill about 1 minute per side.

Not at all. You listen. You started the smoking discussion and tried
to stop it several times by saying "the end, finis." but if anyone
else made a final comment, you came back. That's why I pointed out
that if you really wanted to stop the discussion, you needed to stop
first. Which you did when it looked like you were the only one
defending smokers, but when someone else who agreed with you posted
something, you jumped right back in.
But even then, that's ancient history.
The point of this is your dishonest claim that you were "lambasted for
being a smoker." That was untrue, uncalled for, out of line, and
rude. And you're bringing on yourself again. You just don't know
when to leave well enough alone.
