Possibly you're confusing the flavor of horseradish with mustard...
there are many, many varietys of mustard greens and mustard lettuces,
some have red veined leaves. Some of the Chinese hybrids have
excellent texture, very tender-crisp and not too spicy. I have two
types of mustard flavored lettuce growing in my garden but neither are
the red veined variety... they are superb in salads.
