I had leftover outside round roast done in the slow cooker. We had
it the second night just reheated. Last night I cubed the rest of the
meat and added it and the leftover veggies to the gravy, opened a can of
crescent rolls to line a pie plate, did the egg wash on the bottom
crust, filled it with the gravy,veg mix and poured it into the crust.
There was a bit of crescent roll left that I scattered across the top
and baked for about 25 minutes at 350. Turned out great. Now I have
half a pie for tonight....not bad for an 8.00 roast....Sharon

Crappy fruit and walnut salad from the dreaded McD's here-too damned hot to
cook! When we went out at 7, it had cooled down to a balmy 98.

Sounds yummy! I did a roast (5 bucks on sale) in the Crockpot yesterday.
When it was falling apart tender, I drained the liquid, broke up the
meat, and put it back into the Crockpot with some canned crushed
tomatoes, minced garlic, and seasonings. I let that simmer for another
hour or so and served it with some barley (cooked with carmelized onions
and the defatted liquid from the roast) and a salad. Very tasty.

Gonna try some of the leftover beef to make sandwiches for lunch...

Oooh, if you can get some of those crusty "French" rolls, go for an open
faced hot sandwich with the sauce.
