DH cooks liver in such a way that it comes out very moist and tasty. We
both like it smoothered with sauteed onions. Yes that is sour cream on
my potatoes. It is low fat and along with my yogurt snack provided my
calcium source for yesterday.

That liver does looks good. Maybe I have found tonight's dinner.
Thanks.

Mind you the very thought of 'low fat' sour cream makes me cringe :)
And come to think of it, it is an oxymoron!

Ohhh!!! Also in Italy we make liver in this way. We call it "Fegato alla
veneziana" (venetian liver).
Before cooking , we flour it. Then we put it in a frying pan with butter,
onions and laurel.
At the end, some black pepper over! Yes! Very tasty also for people who
doesn't like liver at all!
Cheers

I didn't know there was a name for it. That's neat to know.

DH dredges it lightly in seasoned flour and always cooks it with the
onions. He doesn't use the laurel - he likely doesn't know what that is.

This is the only way I like liver. My mom cooked it until it was about
the texture of a sole of a shoe and DMIL cooked it in stewed tomatoes.
DH hates warm tomato chunks so that won't work. The way he does it is
very good!

That is just sacrareligious <shudder & almost fainting>. You need to go
to church say a bunch of prayers and repent my young man. A delicacy
such as DH's liver & onions cannot be taited with ketchup of any kind!

~patches~ - who's plain tomato sauce is almost ready to go and who is
making green tomato ketchup shortly, tomato pie is in the thoughts as
are fried green tomatoes and I have a few L-stars left for apple bread.
I need to get my but in gear! Will post pics links :)

Me too! As long as it's not pork and it's cooked right.
