The number 1 complaint that everyone seems to have with breadmachine or
homemade bread is it goes stale too fast. Here's my tips on the issue.
Prevention - Only make what you can feasibly use within a day or two. A
breadmachine makes this easy since you can make different sized loaves.
Take advantage of the delay feature instead of making several loaves
one day to last the week. If you really have to make several loaves in
one day let them then wrap good and freeze.
Uses for stale bread - Breadcrumbs, croutons, and stuffing are my main
uses. Hot open faced sandwiches will use up both slightly stale bread
as well as left over meat & gravy.
