Does anybody have an opinion on vegetable wash products? Producers claim
that many pesticides are designed to hold up well to rain and simply rinsing
produce doesn't remove all the pesticide residue. Is there any truth to
this, and is there anything harmful in the vegetable wash that we should be
concerned about?

I found the following. The first is from a science fair. The others are
from university food science sites.
http://www.usc.edu/CSSF/History/2002/Projects/J1428.pdf
http://www.umext.maine.edu/onlinepubs/htmpubs/4336.htm

The last one is about Fit by P&G. Interestingly, the figures given for
the effectiveness come from testing on glass containers. Not one of the
three links above notes benefits to using such products. They found just
as much benefit (and occasionally greater benefit) using distilled water.
